CUTTY is a Cutman. Calm under pressure, sharp with his hands, but broken everywhere else. He scrapes by on low-tier fights and high-risk side hustles, like the one he runs tonight. He doesn’t know it yet, but this score sets off a slow fuse. When whispers surface about a secret, cartel-backed training camp in Mexico, he sees it — a shot at recognition. At proving he still matters.

He pulls his brother ROLEY with him — a former fighter turned Trainer, loyal to a fault. Always cleaning up Cutty’s mess. They land in Guadalajara, at the Lopez Crime Family’s compound. The camp is run by PUGA, a Fixer with something to hide. VINCE, the fighter they’ve come to rebuild, is raw but promising. And CUCO — the family’s quiet, calculating head — sees everything.

Cutty’s ego flares fast. He provokes rivals, tests boundaries, and forces Roley into the camp by exposing Puga’s lie. Then comes Nena — Cuco’s sister, a sharp-witted lawyer with a say in family business. Their chemistry is raw and immediate. But one indulgent night, Cutty drops his guard — and Nena overdoses. Puga cleans up the mess. Quietly. But the debt is clear: Cutty will throw the fight. Or they both burn.

Roley, meanwhile, finds his rhythm. Trains Vince the right way. Keeps his head down. Builds something real. He doesn’t know Cutty’s unraveling behind the scenes — or that he’s already tangled in the fallout. He learns too late. Back in Vegas for fight week, a ghost from Cutty’s past resurfaces. She tracks him. Sells him out. Cutty runs. They almost catch him. But Puga steps in — not to save him, but to tighten the leash.

That night, Team Johnson enters the ring. The arena’s full. Vince’s family is in the crowd. He comes out strong, but loses focus. Deviates from the plan. Then it happens — a clean shot. Vince takes damage. It’s all on the line. Cutty stares down the single cut that could cost them everything.

Time folds. He’s back with his mother, decades ago — the first face he ever treated. He remembers the lesson she gave him: about self-worth, about fixing what you didn’t break. And the moment she gave him his name: “Cutty.”

Back in the ring, he seals the cut. It won’t last long — just enough for one more round. Enough for Roley to call the right shot. Enough for Vince to land it.

The aftermath is chaos. The brothers run. Roley breaks off, says goodbye. Puga’s schemes finally catch up. And Cutty stands before Cuco, no excuses left — only truth. Cuco doesn’t shoot. He sees something in him. Not weakness. Recognition.

Cutty walks free. Vindicated. But his past is still out there. Waiting. Debt unpaid.

EPISODE 1

Log line: Cutty, a low-level Cutman with a self-worth complex, botches a dangerous side hustle and hears whispers of a secret training camp that might finally prove his value.

CUTTY and ROLEY work a regional boxing match, the proving ground for fighters and cornermen. It’s a bloody brawl — and Cutty thrives in it. Roley shines too. But the pay day turns up mediocre. Another reminder of his place in the world, and his worth. He remedies that feeling the only way he knows how, with adrenaline-filled side hustles, away from his brother.

That night, Cutty ambushes a laundromat. His take: cash and DRUGS. A dangerous bonus. Distinct in packaging, traceable. He should toss them, but he doesn’t. Gives no mention of it either as he splits the take with his PARTNER, the hustle mastermind. The money sucks. But a new job ahead promises more.

For now, it’s time to indulge. To forget. Unaware that the drugs he stole have already begun a trace back to him. The next day’s come-down hits him hard. He feels stuck, needs more. He corners Roley about a sensitive subject: whispers that PUGA is searching for a new corner team for a top level fight. It’s a long shot, but he has an in — knows where to find him.

EPISODE 2

Log line: Cutty drags his brother Roley into the orbit of an elite, crime-funded training camp, forcing their way into a high-stakes shot at redemption.

Puga holds court in an old-money restaurant when the brothers ambush him. He’s assembling a corner team for VINCE JOHNSON, a Boxer with a shot at stardom, who needs rebuilding. And his backers, a Crime Family, expect results. But Puga turns them away — he’s looking for tried and proven professionals — unlike the brothers.

Life resumes. Roley trains a YOUNG BOXER, she’s aspirational. Driven. With lots of heart. She reminds him why he does it. Cutty, restless, cases his next hustle early. It’s near his childhood home. Curious, he lands in front, runs into someone from his past. She reminds him that he’s meant for more. It lingers, and when he goes for the next hit later, he can’t commit.

He goes home. Packs, on a mission to join Puga. He stops for Roley, who puts up a fight, but Cutty reminds him that they’re meant for more. Sways him. They track down Puga, he scoffs at Roley, but relents. Ready to let this play out on his terms.

EPISODE 3

Log line: At the Lopez compound, the brothers are thrown into grueling try-outs, and Cutty’s ego nearly costs them everything as he clashes with a rival Cutman and draws dangerous attention.

The brothers arrive at the Lopez Family compound in Guadalajara for tryouts. They gather over a welcome dinner. It’s contained, familial and elegant. NENA moves like an equal in this space and immediately draws Cutty’s attention. But he gets distracted by the rival Cutmen circling the same job. Specifically, CISCO, a Cutman who only exists in this world because of one of Cutty’s fuck ups long ago. Elsewhere, Roley adjusts quickly. And Puga begins proving his worth to the Lopez Family.

Teams train and compete in traditional Boxing for Vince, Puga, and the family. Cutty and Roley compete separately. Cutty goes first, his approach draws Cuco’s attention. Cuco changes the fight to bareknuckle to test Cutty. With Roley, Cuco does the same, severs Trainers from their fighters — testing the Trainer’s game plan. Both fights turn up devastating losses.

Cisco competes last. Cutty stays behind, takes the chance to berate him. But he crosses a line and gets pulled out. Turns violent on the way out. Cuco steps in. Cutty doesn’t flinch. But Puga takes it. Cuco calls it off, and gets push back from Nena. She slows him, but he presses on any way. Everyone follows. She simmers. Cutty watches, throws a quip her way. A spark ignites.

EPISODE 4

Log line: Cutty manipulates Vince and Cuco to secure Roley’s spot as Trainer, exposing Puga in the process — but fractures his relationship with Roley in doing so.

Vince settles on Cutty and Roley, but Puga lies to sway him towards another Trainer. Calls it Cuco’s idea to sell it. Cutty trains with the other guy — he’s good, slightly peculiar to work with, but he’s not right. Roley’s elsewhere confronting Puga about their past, and today’s decision to cut him. Puga savors the moment, but Roley has the last word.

Cutty and Vince open up about life. About camp. About why Vince passed on Roley. Cutty registers Puga’s lie, but quietly cooks up a plan to expose it. At the reception. Cutty mingles with an eye out for Roley, but he’s boycotting. Puga avoids a shakedown by FAUSTO, who heads finance. And Cuco finds a quiet moment alone.

Cutty goes for it, approaches Cuco and cunningly pulls Vince in to confirm Puga’s lie. Cuco sees through the play, but lets it ride and appoints Roley as Trainer. The move turns the heat up on them. Roley shows up in time to accept, but resents Cutty for his hand in it. By night, Puga is ashamed, bitter at Cutty. And humiliated by Cuco. Feeling like an outsider. Cutty grabs a bottle, triumphant. Alone. Nena’s not ready to call it either. He motions at her. Drink? She considers.

EPISODE 5

Log line: A flashback to childhood, young Alexander becomes his mother’s Cutman and Roley’s fealty to Cutty began.

Halloween season. Decades ago. Alexander and Roley, pre-teens, train boxing at their local gym. Roley idolizes him. Their home is festive. ROSE, their mother does chores. Roley makes a mess, and Alexander fills in. Setting up lights and fixing things. At night, he works on an art project. Roley helps, but mostly excites over seeing their dad soon. Alexander’s not so sure.

At school, Alexander enters his project into the competition. His sculpture is a boxer’s face. Kids tease. He feels alone, especially around the other families. He redirects his frustration to the bust, and overcorrects it. Ruins it’s face. He feels abandoned, and leaves. Roley sees it happen, but he chooses to stay. He makes sure Alexander’s bust gets its shot at first prize.

Alexander works himself to exhaustion at the gym. But he steadies, drawn to the quiet control of a Cutman at work. Back at home, he finishes incomplete tasks as he waits for Dad. He doesn’t show. Sadness follows them to bed. But hours later, they wake to the wreckage of Dad’s visit. He came and left. Roley freezes at the sight of their mother. But Alexander, he fills in again. His hands comfort Rose’s face. They clean. They treat. We witness the birth of a Cutman.

EPISODE 6

Log line: Cutty parties with Nena into tragedy, leading to her overdose and Puga’s leverage to fix the fight — all while Roley tries to train Vince and Fausto begins circling Puga’s embezzlement.

Cutty parties with Nena all night. He plays it safe, but she takes over — he lets go. Mesmerized by her authenticity. By all of her.

Day one training. Vince delivers power and flash, but he resists structure and gets reckless. He even walks off, and ends training rather than fall in line. Roley knows he has one shot to breakthrough to him, and makes it his mission. Meanwhile, Fausto corners Puga — suspects he’s skimming, but Fausto’s not sure what to make of it. Puga buys himself time.

That night, Cutty and Nena binge again. He opens up — raw, exposed — but she misses it. Slips into overdose. Puga steps in, seeing a chance to rebuild trust. He covers it up, accepts the blame when Cuco finds out. But it backfires. He’s humiliated for the last time. He cooks up a scheme: settle his debt using Cuco’s own money, and walk away clean. By night’s end, he makes his move — leveraging Nena’s OD to corner Cutty. Throw the fight, or watch Roley take the fall.

EPISODE 7

Log line: In Vegas, Cutty spirals under the weight of guilt and sabotage, his past side hustle resurfaces, and Puga tightens his grip as Cutty finally confesses to Roley.

In Vegas, the fallout from his side hustle barrels toward him. At training, he unravels in silence, consumed by his dilemma. And Roley’s on a mission to break through to Vince with a risky move, sets a trap to provoke him. It works. Guadalajara becomes Vegas. And the brothers return home seeing it through changed eyes. Vince spars and takes a hit that needs attention. Cutty clears it, but Roley contains it. Stops it from becoming news.

Vince and Roley shine at the press conference. Cisco, now on Leaf’s team, extends an olive branch. It guts Cutty that their rivalry ever only existed in his head, feels like a fraud. He unravels at a bar, misses the media-workout. He’s too guilted by the boxing coverage on TV to notice he’s being watched. He breaks, calls Roley from the bathroom to confess, but he can’t. Wants back in instead. Roley covers for him and gets things started.

Cutty stops, trying to place the face watching him as the ambush closes in. He catches on and runs. Gets snatched any way. The gym empties, the workout is over. Roley leaves, deflated. Puga has Cutty dragged out, and he tightens his grip. Cutty falls in line but revels in Puga’s misery. Later, Cutty comes clean to Roley, but he's not helping this time.

EPISODE 8

Log line: On fight day, Cutty doesn’t sabotage Vince — risking everything to protect the one part of himself that hasn’t unraveled, as the outcome of the fight, his brother’s future, and the fallout from his side hustle all collide.

Fight Day. Puga places bets against Vince. Cutty and Roley, sign off on yesterday’s injury. And VINCE’S FAMILY crowds the space. He goes on a jog to clear his mind, but picks up a squad of fans along the way and hypes up. Meanwhile Cutty and Roley study an old poster with Roley’s face. Bittersweet.

Elsewhere, Cuco and Fausto touch down. Fausto’s quiet investigation runs behind Cuco’s back. In the arena, Cutty’s hand wrapping is its own main event. Roley keeps Vince loose. Puga plays both sides, fishing for info on Vince’s sparring injury. A detail Puga shouldn’t have. Signs of a failsafe plan. But it’s time for Vince’s walk out. It’s rooted in LA culture, the arena vibrates. But Leaf’s tunnel exit sets the tone.

Vince opens strong. But by mid-rounds, he gets cocky, and showboats. The crowd turns on him, the arena rattles. His family shakes, and Vince cracks. He makes mistakes, draws a penalty for retaliating after a cheap shot. Vince reels in the corner and shuts Roley’s advice out. But he’s lost it. He gets cracked open and Cutty faces the single cut keeping us from victory.

REFEREE and DOCTOR hover over Cutty. Sixty seconds. The gash takes him back to the week he became a Cutman.

Rose pulls out Alexander’s statue and ribbon that Roley recovered. She warns him against the instinct to break things before they break him. Like the statue. Like himself. He remembers that from her loving embrace, she gave him the name: CUTTY. And from his youthful face, we match cut, back into the fight and ride the momentum.

He can seal it  but it’ll only hold this round. Roley gives Vince marching orders. He delivers. Takes control. Knocks him out. The crowd erupts into chaos. The brothers run, evading Puga’s goons. They get separated in the crowd. Cutty draws the tail, finds Roley in the distance with a look and says goodbye. He gets lifted by Cuco’s men.

At an airstrip, Cutty’s there to answer for his deal with Puga. Puga breaks, he gets loaded onto the plane, and sedated — bound for worse. Cutty doesn’t flinch. Not even Cuco’s gun shakes him. He even comes clean about Nena’s overdose, hoping to be put out of his misery. Hoping to take whatever control over his life is left. But Cuco lets him live. He’s free.

Hours later, the Craftsman’s FOR RENT sign comes down. A truck unloads. A family moves in. Cutty watches from his parked Datsun. Later, at a red light, he’s boxed in. The bounty on him has come due. Eyes lock in the rearview. His instincts fire. He grabs a smoke. The glovebox stays open. Smokes go in. The gun waits.

FADE TO BLACK.
